TWL Rules |
|||||||||||||||||||||
1) The higher ranked team on the ladder of the two teams playing a match gets table choice. The higher ranked teams are challenged rigorously. With this, they do not have to move every time they play a challenge, unless they wish. It is a privilege granted for working your way up the ladder. 2) TWL is a mirrors league, and in general match formats are a game of 8hm - No DN. However, if all 4 players agree, any format is allowed. All 4 players should agree on format before the fist card of the game is thrown. If one team sits with a team that advertised for a specific game, they are obligated to play the advertised game. There are 2 ways to invite another TWL team to play. A. Advertise for a game in lobby chat. The posting needs to include TWL, format, the table # and if DND is required. For example: TWL 8hm - No DN @ table 35, or TWL 8hm - No DN @ table 35 DND required. B. You may request a game or challenge another team using a zone message. Include the game format you wish to play, especially if not 8hm - No DN or if you want DND. 3) All four players in a TWL match must be officially authorized for the game to count as a league game. A player is not officially authorized to play in a TWL game until they have been added to their team roster. Team captains will notify a player once they have added them to the team roster. 4) Once seated and the table is open: A. Before the game begins post the format. All 4 players must agree to the format before the first card is thrown. B. Hide Cards from kibitzers. On the left corner of the table, click the options button and CHECK the Hide Cards option. If cards are not hid by end of first hand, you must forfeit (ff) 5) If a team misbids in the first hand of play reseat. Each team is allowed one misbid on the first hand. If the same team misbids two times in the first hand, they must forfeit. If a team misbids on in any other hand, they must forfeit. 6) If a player is booted before the first card is thrown in the first hand of a match, all reseat. Obsessive occurrences of booting on the first hand could lead to an administrative inquiry. If player is booted before bidding in any other hand AND the bot misbids, all players need to agree on and document the score, number of bags, and number of hands remaining, reseat, and keep score manually WAIT for the booted player to return before reseating for full table agreement. The other team may choose a different table for the reseating. 7) If a player is booted in the middle of a game, the team has 10 minutes for the booted player to return. If the player has not returned within ten minutes, a sub may sit in for the booted player. If the booted player or a sub has not seated within 10 minutes, the team with the booted player must forfeit. If a sub plays 3 or more hands of the game, the sub receives the win or loss credit for the match. 8) Wait until the end of a hand and type "hlc" (Hold last card) and "brb" (Be right back.) before taking a brb. Brbs should be brief. Brbs are limited to five minutes maximum, hopefully much less. If you will be longer than five minutes find a sub. If you have not returned or a sub has not sat in for you within 5 minutes on a brb, your team must forfeit. In respect of others keep your brbs as brief as possible. 9) If a game ends in a tie, reseat and play three hands of the same game format to determine the winner. 10) ONLY the losing team reports the match. To report a loss, go to the TWL homepage and click the Report Loss link under The Ladder section on the left menu. Follow the prompts. If the TWL report site is down, we try to staff a report table. Report table number is posted in the lobby. If neither of these reporting options are available, e-mail the report to teamwiz@hotmail.com. E-mail match reports MUST include all 4 players EXACT nicknames, the date and the time of the match. For example: AAA_Joe & AAA_Sue OVER BBB_Amy & BBB_Bob on 6-20-2002 @ 8:08 PST. For example: AAA_Joe & AAA_Sue OVER BBB_Amy & BBB_Bob. The losing team MUST send in the report right after the game, waiting to e-mail later causes an incorrect reading of the standings.. If the losing team fails to report a loss, a penalty will be issued. 11) The same two players from one team are limited to playing the same two players from another team five times per day. After five games, if one player gets a new partner the two teams may play another five games in that same day. For example, AAA_Joe & AAA_Sue may play BBB_Amy & BBB_Bob five times in one day, then AAA_Joe & AAA_Sue may play BBB_Amy & BBB_Tom may play five times that same day. 12) Table Talk (tt) is not allowed. A phrase or statement that hints at the cards in your current hand is table talk, or any statement that could change the outcome of a game. Past hands are all right to talk about. Because it is impossible to define every possible form of table talk, it is just best to stay away from any statement that refers to the cards in your current hand. If you feel a player has used tt, immediately stop play and state at table, Holding cards from play for tt violation. If a statement a player makes is determined to be table talk, that players team must forfeit the game. If players disagree on the challenged tt statement made, call a TWL administrator for resolve. If a TWL administrator is unavailable, have all players verify game play halted immediately at point of possible tt violation in question by stating middle of hand, copy, paste and save all table chat up to that point, e-mail it to teamwiz@hotmail.com, everyone agree on the score, number of bags, hands played and the format of the game (ie. team AAA had a score of 152 with 2 bags team BBB had a sore of 73 with 3 bags, 3 hands had been completed and the format was 8hm ndn). Administration will review chat, make a decision and any necessary win adjustments based on their decision. If it is found that no tt occured then the teams may finish the game at a time that is convient to both teams and within a reasonable time. 13) Just as stated in the Zone COC, cheating is not tolerated. Players who are caught cheating and have it verified by the admin, will be banned from playing on TWL. The length of the banning will be determined by the Disciplinary Committee(DC). Proof of cheating is required to ban a player. 14) Anyone accusing another member of cheating or spreads rumors of such accusations without proof will be suspended from league play for three days. Copy, paste, and save all dialogue documenting the invalid accusations. Always remember, you cannot see what is going on in the other players homes. Because you cannot see you cannot and do not know. Therefore, suspicions are not valid support for accusations. 15) A team is obligated to play any TWL team that answers their lobby requests for a game. The team answering the advertisement is obligated to play the format advertised and honor DND if the team has advertised as such in the lobby. Teams wanting everyone to go DND must advertise this at the same time they advertise for a game (ie. TWL @@@ 1, 8HM, DND required). |
